Macrotech --  2 MG RAM Board
This was Macrotech's version of a RAM disk.  This was a 5 layer PC board with a further 4 layer adaptor board attached on top.

Macrotech V-RAM

The board had 512K of static RAM. The board use (8K X 8) HM6264L-120 RAM chips. Unfortunately the chips are not socketed.   It could be configured a a "normal RAM board" or as a memory disk.  It was IEEE-696 compatible.  It worked with 8 bit or 16 bit data paths.

As a memory board it could be set on any 64K boundary in the 16MG address space of the S-100 bus.  As a memory disk it worked unmodified with the software for the then popular CompuPro M-Drive board. There was a battery backup circuit (and battery) also on board that required minimal power.  The battery would recharge when the power was restored.  A full battery would last ~150 days!

There was a good review of this board in the S-100 Journal (Vol 1, #3, 1986) see here.
I do not have a copy of the manual for this board. If you can share one please let me know.
The manual for this board can be obtained here.
