BG Computer Applications -- History

BG Computer Applications was one of about a
dozen or so new S-100 board companies that suddenly appeared in magazines around
the early to mid 1980's. The boards were generally designed by talented
engineers and were densely packed with features. Unfortunately in most cases the
companies only lasted one or two years. They simply could not compete against
the ground swell of cheap (but good) IMB-PC clone boards and systems also
appearing at the time.
One such company was BG. It was setup by a Philip Green and was located in
Bryan, TX. They made as far as I know only two boards, a 64K and a
256K static RAM board. They were quite similar. I have not see or used the 64K
board but have used the 265k board.
I do not have any further information about the company or how it evolved.
If you have any information you would like to share please let me know.
