Paul,
Great CATCH! you are absolutely right... those power connectors will have to be moved.... Otherwise, they won't let a board sit in those slots. You are right about Slot 1 on a second back plane, it will need to be sacrificed to the S-100 God, otherwise, it will be too close to slot 9 of the previous board, but that was the only way to make the other slots 2 to 9 fall in line with the standard 0.75" spacing. It's a small trade off to make the board IMSAI usable. I am going to rework the board to see how I can fit those power connectors.... Hmmm Cheers, Josh Date: Fri, 1 May 2015 02:41:31 -0400 Subject: Re: [N8VEM-S100:6898] Re: Reorder of S-100 8-slot Backplane PCB From: pbi...@gmail.com To: n8vem...@googlegroups.com Thanks Josh. Sometimes my "minds eye" is not quite good enough to visualize stuff from verbal descriptions :-<. My principal question is whether there will be any vertical clearance issues between board components and the inserted board "wings" that will overhang them. The reset button is free-n-clear. The power connectors would be the questionable cases I suspect -- they will have to be low-profile and right-angle. In a dual configuration, then slot 1 of the second backplane would be unused and there would be a two-board gap, correct? On Thu, Apr 30, 2015 at 5:40 PM, Crusty OMO <crus...@hotmail.com> wrote:
