I will see when I do the step by step build write-up of this board Steven if I can include a BOM. Since I now have gotten KiCAD working I think it has a BOM list capability. As to vendors and part numbers on boards, unfortunately I simply don’t have the time to do this, perhaps somebody else could chip in. These days I’m doing typically 3-4 new boards a month here, mostly prototypes, I simply stock up on batches of common components and IC’s and draw from that. Attached is a picture of my main “work in progress” table! The boxes (there are others), contain the most commonly used IC’s.
I actually find Jameco to be the best for most parts, they are local here, failing them I usually go with Mouser. I can never seem to find anything on the Digikey web site.
The only overseas vendor I trust is UTSource. I avoid eBay except for components (connectors etc.).

Very interesting board but my concern was difficult to obtain components. It will be much nice to provide BOM. This will help to locate the components available for sale. Don Caprio created excellent BOM that make easier to find the components quickly.
I discouraged some vendors such as Newark, Allied, Mouser and Digi-key tend overcharge for shipping. Sometimes they impose with handling fee and sometime they refuse to sell just one component (i.e. resistors). It was not friendly for hobbyist but okay for large corporation. I checked other vendors and most of them did not have in stock that drive hobbyist into frustration included varies of prices. eBay tend to create overcharge for components. I searched some components for my Ithaca Intersystems cloned project. Some sellers want to sell over 55 dollars for just one chip while I found other vendor sell for 79 cents if purchase 10 pieces. I strongly believe eBay components are closer 80 percent were not function or relabeled.
I wonder if there are some other way to purchase large volume of components for S-100 hobbyist as Mr. Caprio posted on eBay with "kit". I assume this will help to build the board much quicker like old days with Heathkit.

The project itself has a long and convoluted history with some of us.
Initially proposed by Andrew and others probably over two years ago, there
were a number of "challenges" actually getting VGA style video outputs. In
the end it became clear that the most practical way to get VGA style video
from the Yamaha V9938 was to use an external RGB to VGA converter box/board.
These are still fairly common and easy to interface. The board uses the
same video and sound chips/ports as those used in the original MSX
computers. Interestingly there are still people that program (games) for

That said, this board is in dire need of programming support. Only two
rudimentary test routines are supplied by me with the hardware and are on
the above web page.
I would like to acknowledge the big help of Leon Byles (Australia) and Neil
Breeden is figuring out the final circuits for this board and helping with
the (3) prototype boards. Also of course Andrew in doing the early prototype
KiCAD drawings.
I am attaching a picture of the final KiCAD layout drawing. (This BTW is my
second complete KiCAD board -- finally gotten the hang of the software! )
The .exe Freerouter converged to a final layout in 1 hour!
Anyway as I said , I'm going to order 3 boards for myself, and while this is
a very specialized board and probably not of general use, I'm open to
adding others to the order list. In all probability this will be a onetime
order event. Will have the board done by PCBCart running probably
somewhere in the high $ teens/board .
