RE: [N8VEM-S100:6879] Altair Cyclops Info Wanted

I believe the metal cap can be desoldered from the chip.

Hi Josh,

The 2102 spec sheet shows a0-a9, a data in, a data out, a not chip enable, and a read/write. On the schematic, data out goes to the base of a transistor and data in is tied to VCC.. The address lines are tied to some counter lines. R/W is tied to some gates that I suspect cause the chip to be read. Not chip enable is to ground. The 2102 fits perfectly.  There is no refresh circuitry or IC pins in the schematic. The 2105 1024 X 1 dynamic chip has 18 pins including a refresh pin, while the 2102 is 16 and matches the schematic. I was able to snag a couple of 2102s with the metal caps on them. I'll pry one off and see if is light sensitive.

Any ADM-3A transformer you are not needing, talk to me first, please! But I see you're busy with the bus card, and others, so no hurry.

John
