Hi!  The V9958 should also work but it does not support composite video
output.  

The chips are largely similar from a pin out and functional perspective but
the V9958 contains additional modes the V9938 does not.

Part of the build and test will be hashing out what is required to make the
V9958 work with the socket.

The current design is for V9938 only and would require some jumpers to
convert.

Assuming we could get the VGA like interface working the prospects for V9958
are much better.

Never mind on the 4164 - I misread they are 41464's which are 18pin.
Still would like answer on v9958 - they are 2.5 times cheaper than
v9938
