Re: [N8VEM-S100:4181] Re: Interest, Discussion and R&D on a 18 Slot S100 Backplane & ATX PSU board.

Sorry about the mis-send there; hit the wrong key!  Corrected marking is "FSO11PH50-DR-H-DH".  They look factory-original and IMO are quite nice.  No regrets here :->.

I purchased 20 when Ants was early-on in his backplane design.  They fit a 17-slot MITS original backplane that I subsequently picked up on eBay as well as the thicker 8-slot design from N8VEM -- with an appropriate amount of solder-tail above the thick N8VEM PCB for a quality solder-joint.

They're lookmarked FSO11PH50-DR-H-DR 7936

Have you bought these before Paul?

I'm shopping for 26 connectors for Ants backplane and one of the 8-slot boards.
Have to be sure they'll fit.

You might consider Anchor Electronics. Catalog: http://anchor-electronics.com/price-list.pdf

On Page 17 you'll find that for the 100-pin edgeboard connectors:

Solder-tail $3.95
Wire-wrap $6.95
Best prices that I've found *anywhere* (excepting occasionally on eBay for WW). Note that shipping is FedEx (no exceptions), so the actual cost-delivered will be higher per-item. Orders only phone-or-fax.
They are a great source for numerous hard-to-find components.

But ordering _just_ 3 solder-tail connectors is probably not going to be nearly as cost-effective as it looks at first-glance once you factor in the shipping.

Brian,

Yep, I think that you are right.

Todd,

Do you have any connectors for sale?  I need 3, it looks like.

All,

I have a mix of flanged and non-flanged connectors.  Do the flanges make a lot of difference?  I'd normally want them all to match, but the cost of the connectors is high.

Thanks!

Hi, Alex,

I think the ones you're looking at from Digikey are the wrong pitch; the pins are spaced at .1 and I think the S-100 connectors are .125.
