I remember loading MS DOS 4.0 on my XT, It was so flakey that I ran back to 3.3 I heard of others using 4.01 but most ran back to 3.3 or limped along until DOS 5.0 After DOS 5, I believe I burned all my 4.0 disks....
I think there's a web site called "Abandonware", it might be there. I know I have a copy here somewhere, but can't seem to turn it up.
