RE: [N8VEM-S100:6858] This is why I got into the IMSAI

Oh, my. I used to work on 11/34's thru VAX 11-780's and HP 2100 thru the MXE's for Southern Bell/ at&t. We had core memory in some

of the machines, but mostly semiconductor memory. Many of our disk drives were the "latest", with 300+ meg remover multi-platter

disk packs. Neat stuff to work on. I did component-level troubleshooting in those days. [insert pic of my daydreaming of days gone by].

Those were the days!

It would be nice to have a PDP-8 with tape reader and teletype.

I know what you mean.  I'd love to have a PDP 11/34 like the one I used to work with.

That sure is a sweet looking unit on ebay.

Back in the day, the fist computer systems I used were an HP2000 Access System
and the PDP Dec 11/70 running RSTS/E.  I was lucky to have an account on the system
with decent "right's" and 80 blocks of storage.

Saw this on Ebay;

Brought back memories of visiting the lab and seeing this system... Loved the console.
Since a working 11/70 is kinda unobtanium  I got into the IMSAI's with similar panel switches.
