Re: [N8VEM-S100:1840] New S-100 Parallel IO board

Hi Roger,
They are $1.49 at Anchor Electronics (not a labeled 8212 but an equivalent 74S412) . Anchor does not have a on line ordering system but the printed catalog is here <http://www.anchor-electronics.com/weblist.pdf> and the 8212/74S412 is listed under 8000/8200 series mid page on the left side on page 8.   The Centronics Parallel Port chip part nubmer appears to have been a typo, according to the schematic it should be ST78C34 and they are $5.40 in qty 1 from Mouser.
Regards,
Jeff

Huh?  A quick search for 8212s turned up some at Jameco ($6 ea.) and Unicorn ($5 ea.).  With 8 on the board, that's pretty expensive in my book.

Also, the PLCC "Centronics printer port driver chip" (forgot the number on the thing) was a no-show on the sites I quickly searched.  So, what's up with that?

Roger
