Hi Franck,
Thanks for your feedback. I use a passive board (Salota 10 slots) but I thought a non terminated backplane would allow to go up to 4-6Mhz? 
I do want to migrate to an active board but would prefer to wait for the 18-slot version, I fear the 8-slot board I already have may be too small rapidly . Do you think I should consider building the bus terminator board ?
I will do some further investigation week-end though
