There is already uPD7220 demonstration for the ECB uPD7220 GDC board.  It uses an almost identical design except for ECB instead of S-100.  It includes the BT478, uPD7220, etc.  The software is on the wiki in the ECB uPD7220 folder.

Thanks for looking at the schematic changes,just wanted to make sure I hadn't introduced any errors. The design rule checker doesnt report any errors so should be ok to go to prototype. (Changed 15pin Dsub connector for 2 x 8 IDC as per Console I/O + Lava10 boards)
 
So, is anyone else out there interested in being involved in a prototype run of the S100 uPD7220 GDC board ?
 
As John has already pointed out this will involve many hours of coding to make the board functional, so this may be one for those who like a challenge :-)
If no none steps forward in the Z80 camp then I will happily take on the Z80 coding but results will be slow as I am relearning my Z80 asm after 30 years away, but maybe others out there might be interested in writing code for other processors ???
 
Just trying to guage the level of interest at the moment and work out a way forward.
 
I have attached a zip of the KiCad files (modified for 2 x 8 IDC monitor connector)
I'm using KiCad build (2013-07-07 BZR 4022)-stable

On the 7220 I will help out with the hardware, the thing to remember about the 7220 is you have to do quite a bit of software writing to get it to be of any use.   Is somebody prepared to do that. Because without software that chip/board  is useless.

Andrew has uploaded the EDA files for the uPD7220 GDC this afternoon, if you feel inclined to do a production run then put me down for 1 board
just for curiosity value. It might be worth considering a smaller run of 5 to 10 boards as this board has failed to spark sufficient interest for a production run
before. looking a previous forum posts for the uPD7220 GDC it would appear to be a descendant of the ECB uPD7220 graphics board interfaced to the S100 bus and is ripe for testing.

Unfortunately I don't have enough of a system together to help in testing, but I can chip in a bit
for prototypes.  I'd also be willing to handle the production run if we can get takers for at least
20 boards, if that would be helpful.

I can definitely see chipping in at least some of the cost. I find the uPD7220 GDC interesting as several business class CP/M systems used it for graphics (DEC Rainbow, QX-10 etc.).
