Great news Andrew, that board really has the 8086 master/slave family of boards way I really wanted to have them all along. The prototype is rock solid and with a few 74Fxx chips runs in my system at 12MHz. The board runs as a bus master, or, as a slave to another bus master (e.g. Z80). So you can go back and forth (or further on to our 68K board) in a multi CPU S-100 bus system. Also added to this board is the capability of going down one level further where this board (as a slave) can call another DMA controller or CPU (a slave to the slave). This is clearly a specialized situation and hopefully one day will be utilized with a fast DMA controller S-100 board. Please see here for a detailed description of this 80286 board:- http://www.s100computers.com/My%20System%20Pages/80286%20Board/80286%20CPU%20Board.htm I will submit assembly notes when the board arrives. Andrew just sent on PP money for 3 boards. John From: n8vem...@googlegroups.com [mailto:n8vem...@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Andrew Lynch Hi Some really great news today! Yahoo! Second, at long last (assuming no more changes) the S-100 80286 CPU board finished trace route optimization! This board is almost old enough to vote it has been optimizing for so long. I am very happy to see it finally emerge out of the basement computer. It is ready for “production” so if you would like to get one or more of these exciting new S-100 80286 CPU boards please do the new usual pre-order. I will set aside your board so you get them right away! Yay! Good news Friday! -- |
