RE: [N8VEM-S100:4163] Multiple Rom Monitors and a conflict

Dave has become the de facto IDE board guy so I’ll let him answer,  but where are your disk RAM buffer variables etc.  stored.   The Z80 monitor will try and find the top of RAM for the stack. It always puts out a “#” character as the very first thing it does to indicate it’s alive.  Without a description of exactly what you mean by “but not together” it’s not possible to really help.

Please describe symptoms in detail.

John

Subject: [N8VEM-S100:4163] Multiple Rom Monitors and a conflict

Hello Everyone,

I have a problem I hope someone can answer as I am just not sure where to start.

I have a copy of Master Z80 in Rom that resides at F000.  I also have a version of MYIDEROM that was put together by David Fry to allow boot from the IDE CF 'no holes' version.  This rom is at E000.

Now, both roms will function just fine in the system by themselves, but not together and I don't know why.  I think it has to do with a common stack or other common area, and I can certainly change the code in one or the other to make it work.

Does anyone know right off why this is happening?  Which code would you change and why?

Thanks for all the help.

Thomas
